Humanitarian Relief

Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre has been involved in humanitarian work for a number of years.  The number of world disasters and conflicts has seen an unprecedented rise in the displacement of civilians who are the victims of such catastrophes.

Thus, GLMCC has reacted by setting up a new team, Taskforce GLM, to identify areas most in need of aid. Working in partnership with humanitarian charities, Taskforce GLM will undertake activities, which not only deliver aid, but also empower local people to support themselves over a longer period.

Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wa sallam) said,

“The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.” [Muslim]

Core Team

Taskforce GLM has been operating since 2014 and has been successful in raising millions of pounds for numerous projects handled by the team. Having put together a strong, hands-on team, it has created strong foundations for a growing force where volunteers work together to deliver aid in the best way possible. With the help of the local community and working in partnership with other humanitarian charities; the Taskforce team identifies areas that are most in need and personally delivers into areas where other charities do not.
