About

Asalamualikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, may the peace and blessings of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala be upon you, and welcome to Green Lane Masjid & Community Centre (GLMCC).  We sincerely hope and make dua that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala counts your efforts and deeds on your scale of good deeds and may He Subhanahu wa ta'ala keep us all firm on the truth and on the straight path.

Introduction to GLMCC

This character filled and colourful local landmark first opened its doors as the 'Jamia Masjid and Muslim Community Centre', administered by Marakazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith UK.  This was a time when an unsettled, fledgling Muslim community urgently required a social and spiritual centre for gatherings, festivals, religious education and worship.

Significantly this joyous opening marked the beginning of the Mosque's neighbourly pursuits to act as an interface with the wider community, to help people improve their understanding of Islam and to contribute towards the betterment and prosperity of the people of Small Heath.

Situated in the heart of Birmingham in a thriving community that is diverse in ethnicity and rich in culture, the Mosque has firmly established itself as a leading Mosque and as a result it managed to reach the runners up final for UK Model Mosque Award in 2007.

In 2008 Green Lane Masjid & Community Centre became an independent charity.
